How To Claim The Veterans Plan
Step 1: Go to AT& Ts military discount website here
Step 2: Click Sign Up Online in the box designated for military veterans
Step 3: Upload a valid form of identification to verify your veteran status. Accepted forms of ID include a VetRewards card from Veterans Advantage, a veteran-designated drivers license, or a Veteran ID Card .
Step 4: Follow the prompts for account creation, or for a discount to be added to your current AT& T account
Note: If you do not have one of the identification forms listed, you will need t sign up for a discounted account at an AT& T store.
When you sign up in-store, you can use other forms of identification including your DD-214, a current AMVETS membership card, a Veteran Health Insurance Card , or any of the same IDs mentioned above.
Does At& t Have Permanent Change Of Station Accommodations
AT& T has accommodations for PCS and other military moves or deployments. An AT& T representative I interviewed for this article told me that if youve had the account for thirty days, AT& T allows you to cancel or suspend your services without penalty. However, if you decide not to buy from AT& T, no matter which ISP you get your services from, amendments to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act 115-407 ensure that members of the armed services can cancel their service without penalty if they receive a PCS order or deploy to another location for 90 or more days where their ISP does not offer its services.

Right now, AT& T Fiber is limited to a handful of locations across the US. They include some parts of Florida, California, and Texas, as well as some more North-Eastern states. It doesnt stretch as far out as New York, though .

At& t Internet And Wireless Bundles
Some users like to save a little money by saving with the same company for their cell phone and their internet packages. While theres no actual way to save money on your monthly payments with AT& T by doing this, you can get a payout for taking them both together.
For example, if youre currently a Wireless customer and want to opt for AT& T internet as well, youll be able to get a payout of $300 in the form of a reward card . However, that deal is only for Fiber. If you cant get fiber in your location, you cant get the deal.
If youre already an internet customer of either the Internet or the Fiber plans, its possible to get 25% off selected Wireless plans. However, this is pretty much the same deal as the veteran discount, so its a bit of a moot point.
Does At& t Have An Internet Service Discount For Veterans
AT& T does not have a discount program for veterans. However, they participate in the Federal Lifeline program, as well as offering their own low-income plan called AT& T Access. This means that low-income veterans can get AT& T internet for as los as $9.95 per month however, beyond the use of VA pension paperwork to verify eligibility, neither plan is specifically tailored towards veterans.

What We Dont Like About At& t Unlimited Starter For Military Plan
Slow streaming speeds
Sadly, this plan caps your video streaming speed at 1.5 Mbps. That means even your standard definition content on Netflix is going to be a bit grainy, at best.
Coverage isn’t quite the best
Theres a small gap between AT& T and Verizon when it comes to coverage, but AT& Ts coverage is still second-best. Putting it in this section sounds a bit nit-picky, and it probably is, but you should know that the cheaper monthly price comes with coverage thats less than the best.
If you live in a big city, though, and you dont go out in the country too often, AT& T should provide you with solid coverage.

Depending on which plan you get, Verizon and T-Mobile are ridiculously competitive. The difference in price on the rare occasions where one does beat out the other only comes out to $2 $5 per line. In this case, the perks may make the decision for you rather than the price point.

At& t Military Discount Restrictions
The AT& T military discount plans provide a great deal to those who served or are currently serving.
However, the plans do come with some restrictions.
The 25% off discount cannot be combined with any other offers, discounts, or credits.
The deal gives a percentage off of your monthly plan and device access charges. It does not count for phone purchases or financing option charges.
Taxes and fees are not able to be included in the 25% off category, so they will be complete charges when you see them on your bill.
The discount will begin to show on your bill within 3 billing cycles after you sign up for the deal.
Since it may take a while to get the discount started, you will get a one-time catch up credit to cover the additional fees you pay while you wait for the discount to show in your account.
The discount will be taken after other deals, such as autopay discounts, paperless bill discounts, or multiple line discounts.
AT& T has the right to ask you to re-certify your account annually.
This means that once per year, you may be asked to provide proof of military service once again.
AT& T has the right to change these deals at any time.
Even though this program is steady and there is no sign of this happening, it is something that the company wants its customers to know.
