Why There Is No Disabled American Veterans Donation Pickup Service In The Donation Town Directory

DonationTown was asked by Disabled American Veterans to remove any of the DAV Donation pick up service contact information from our charity donation pickup directory. For practical reasons, we are including this statement and this webpage because of the inquiries we will need to answer individually if we did not.

Visitors to our website know that we do not charge any charity or donor to use the site. All charities that meet basic guidelines are welcome in our directory. Our number one goal is to help donors connect with charities in their local communities. Nevertheless, we will respect the wishes of the lawyers at Disabled American Veterans and not include DAV donation pickup scheduling information on our website.

Since we know that many of you have written in to DonationTown in the past and have asked us to include Disabled American Veterans in our charity donation pick up directory, we wanted to make sure to let you know that we did not accidentally forget to include DAV in our directory. DonationTown prides itself on being a grassroots organization and we want to encourage all of you to continue to send in information about charities in your community.

Disabled American Veterans is always welcome back on DonationTown.org, if they ever want to reconsider. Its a great charity and we want to encourage all of you to continue to support their mission by donating to DAV donation centers in your local communities.

What Does Your Donation Do

Since its founding more than 80 years ago, the Disabled American Veterans has been dedicated to a single purpose: building better lives for Americas disabled veterans and their families. Fidelity to that mission has required DAV to respond creatively and flexibly to changing and sometimes unpredictable problems faced by its constituency. Whether disabled veterans have needed a voice on Capitol Hill, a nationwide service program, a transportation network or unique rehabilitation opportunities, DAV has focused its attention and resources to meet those needs.

With our brave Americans leaving the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, the DAVs services and advocacy are as relevant and critical today as in any time in our nations history. Annually, the DAV represents more than 200,000 veterans and their dependents with claims for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense. The DAVs Voluntary Services Program operates a comprehensive network of volunteers who provide veterans free rides to and from VA medical facilities and improve care and morale for sick and disabled veterans. The DAVs 1.2 million members provide grassroots advocacy and services in communities nationwide. From educating lawmakers and the public about important issues to supporting services and legislation that helps disabled veterans the DAV is there to promote its message of hope to all who have served and sacrificed.
