If you are employed in insurable employment, your employer will deduct EI premiums from your wages or salary. These premiums go into the EI Fund. There is no minimum or maximum age for paying EI premiums.
You pay EI premiums on all your earnings up to a maximum amount. In 2020, for every $100 you earn, your employer will deduct $1.58, until your annual earnings reach the maximum yearly insurable amount of $54,200. The maximum amount of premiums to be paid in 2020 is therefore $856.36.

Lack Of Income For Unemployment Claim
If you are out of work for one year or more, you may not qualify for unemployment compensation because you likely don’t have sufficient past earnings. You will also qualify if you earned at least $900 during your highest quarter and your overall base period earnings are 1.25 times more than this. When Will Ssdi Coverage Lapse
You must meet the recent work test and the duration of work test in order to qualify for SSDI. Heres the recent work test: Typically, if you are 31 or older, you must have worked at least 5 of the last 10 years to keep up your SSDI coverage. Put another way, you will need to have earned 20 credits in the 10 years immediately before you became disabled. There is an exception to this rule for certain blind applicants.
