It can take up to 4 months for a decision to be made. The date your application form is received may affect the date your benefit begins. Do not wait for your completed medical form before sending your completed application form.
However, a decision on your application can only be made when you have sent both of the following:
- a complete application form
- a signed medical report
For eligible disabilities, we aim to make a decision on your eligibility within 120 calendar days .
If we confirm your condition is grave, we aim to process your application within 30 calendar days.
If we confirm you have a terminal illness, we aim to process your application within 5 business days.
Canada Pension Plan Childrens Benefits
The child of a disabled CPP contributor, or a guardian on his or her behalf, may also be eligible to receive a monthly benefit. Dependent children under 18, or between the ages of 18 and 25 and attending school full-time are eligible. The monthly amount of the childrens benefit is $257.58 for 2021. Special Adjustment To The Surviving Spouses Retirement Pension
As if the combined calculation wasnt complex enough already, there is a special adjustment that applies if the surviving spouse started receiving their own retirement pension earlier than age 65. The effect of this special adjustment is to partially offset the actuarial adjustment that was applied to their retirement calculation, for any amount by which their survivors pension is reduced under either Option A or B above.
Carrying on with Andrews example above, his CPP retirement pension started at age 60, so this special adjustment calculation does apply to him. His uncombined survivors pension would have been $480.00, but under Option B, it was reduced to $288.00 .
His special adjustment would be calculated by multiplying the amount of this reduction in his combined survivors pension by the actuarial adjustment factor for his retirement pension . The resulting amount of $69.12 would be added to his retirement pension of $448.00 as a special adjustment. His net CPP retirement pension would therefore be increased to $517.12 , making his net combined benefit $805.12 .

What Impact Does Collecting Cpp Disability Have On My Wcb Wage Loss Benefits
CPP disability benefits are considered a collateral benefit, which means you cannot receive wage loss benefits from the WCB and CPP disability benefits for the same work related injury or illness. The WCB would adjust your wage loss benefits.
