How do I sponsor a wreath?You may sponsor a wreath online or through mail. Each wreath sponsorship is $13.50.

How do I find a specific grave?
You may use this link to locate a specific grave before hand or you can use the kiosk inside the main building.
Do I need to register to participate?
There is no other sign-up or registration required. Just show up at the designated time and place. There is also no age limit to participate. We encourage families to come together.
What should I know about participating on event day?
· You should carpool. Parking is very limited.
· You should arrive early.
· Dress warmly you will be outside for the entire ceremony as well as during the laying of wreaths.
What is a good time to arrive?
Opening Ceremony will start at 10:30 am. We gather outside the maintenance building at the cemetery. The ceremony will provide some introductory remarks and a short briefing to provide basic information to volunteers. We suggest you get there by 10:15 so you don’t miss out on the instructions for wreath placing.
Where do I park?
Please respect the volunteers and park where they direct you.

Cemetery Location Is North Of Concord Nh
From I-93 North or South to Exit 17 . At the top of the Exit ramp, bear right. Follow Route 3 & 4 West through the town of Boscawen. At the intersection of Route 3 & 4 continue to the right on Route 3 North. The cemetery is one mile north on the right side of Route 3.

New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Hosts Annual Tribute

BOSCAWEN, N.H.
Under clear blue skies, a record-setting crowd of hundreds of Granite Staters gathered at the New Hampshire State Veterans Ceremony in Boscawen on Monday to pause, remember and honor the state’s servicemen and women who are no longer with us.
“New Hampshire cares. We really care about our veterans,” John Buck, cemetery director said.
Buck and his team are the caretakers of the hallowed ground. They prepare it for this annual tradition, which is held every May 30th.
“It’s an honor to lead and be the director of this cemetery. First of all, we have an awesome state that honors our veterans and they give us the resources we need to make this a beautiful cemetery,” Buck said.
Veterans organizations, active military joined federal, state and local dignitaries to pay their respects to the more than 14,000 people buried at the cemetery.
“We all have freedoms because of the sacrifices people have made. I think Granite Staters recognize that, U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis Dennis McDonough said.
Monday also marks the beginning of 100 Nights of Remembrance.
Every night at 7 p.m. from Memorial Day to September 11th, TAPS will be played at the cemetery.
It’s a small token of appreciation for those who gave so much according to Eric Schindler who serves as the director of 100 Nights of Remembrance.

The Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Cemetery Administration maintains 155 national cemeteries in 42 states and Puerto Rico as well as 34 soldier’s lots and monument sites. BOSCAWEN U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan today delivered remarks at the 25th anniversary of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery commemoration, honoring the sacrifices of Granite State veterans and the important role of the cemetery.
Each of the heroes who lie in this sanctuary has their own story — serving across different battlefields coming from all walks of life and a range of political, personal, and religious beliefs. But they all shared the bonds of service and their belief in the strength and promise of our remarkable country. At this cemetery, the individual stories of these service members come together to tell the story of New Hampshires role in our ongoing fight for, and protection of, freedom, said Senator Hassan. In both quiet moments and in commemorative ceremonies, the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery is truly a sacred place. Whether we come here to remember and mourn a loved one or to reflect on the challenges and tribulations we face, this place provides us all a chance to focus on whats truly important to us — as a people and as a country.
Veterans Heritage Learning Center
The 1,200 square foot Learning Center houses kiosk exhibits of NH heroes, a multi-media theater featuring hands-on exhibits and military items from various wars and services, interactive learning, and a âJourney of the NH Soldierâ time line. The interactive âNH Veterans Serveâ touch table is located in the middle of the Center where visitors can explore NH military units and their participation in wars and campaigns throughout our history.

New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Celebrating 25th Anniversary
The Memorial Walkway at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Saturday is the cemeterys 25th anniversary, which will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join in a 25th anniversary celebration at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen this Saturday.
It will be a day of gratitude and remembrance as the NH Veterans Cemetery Association takes a walk down memory lane and honors those who were instrumental in breathing life into the hallowed grounds.
The anniversary event is Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The schedule is as follows:
10 a.m.: Event tables open Memorial Walkway tour with discussion
11 a.m.: Gratitude ceremony at the Circle of Flags
12:45 p.m.: Veterans Heritage Learning Center tour and discussion hosted by the NHVCA
1:30 p.m.: Burial Equity for Guard & Reserves information session at the Chapel

National Cemeteries Definitions Of Burial Space
Open:
This cemetery has space available to accommodate casketed and cremated remains.
Closed:
This cemetery is closed to new interments. The only interments that are being accepted are subsequent interments for veterans or eligible family members in an existing gravesite. Periodically however, burial space may become available due to a canceled reservation or when a disinterment has been completed. When either of these two scenarios occurs the cemetery will assign such gravesites or columbarium niches to other eligible Veterans or family members at the time of the request. Since there is no way to know in advance when a gravesite may become available, please contact the cemetery at the time of need to inquire whether space is available.
Cremation Only:
This cemetery has space available for cremated remains. We may be able to accommodate casketed remains in the same gravesite of previously interred family members.

National Guard Reserve Soldiers Now Eligible For Burial At Nh Veterans Cemetery
State residents who served in the National Guard or as reservists can now be buried at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery.
Previously, interment at the cemetery in Boscawen was limited to those military members who had served on active duty, which David Mikolaities, New Hampshire Adjutant General, has called an unfortunate loophole.
In March, President Biden signed the Burial Equity for Guards and Reserves Act, sponsored by New Hampshire Rep. Chris Pappas and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, as part of the federal omnibus package. It allowed states to use their own discretion when deciding whether to inter people who are not otherwise VA eligible. The state Executive Council unanimously voted this week to allow the change in burial policy.
It is a really, really good thing, Warren Perry, the states deputy Adjutant General, told councilors. He said the state anticipates it will now inter about 50 newly eligible soldiers annually, along with their spouses.
If you are a guardsman or reservist who is a resident of the state at the time of their death there will be no cost, Perry said.
There is a $350 interment fee for spouses.
The states Veterans Cemetery was constructed in 1997 on 104 acres of former public forest in Boscawen.
